Here is another project I have been working on with The Hamilton Live Music Trust. This is a great event, up and coming bands from all around Hamilton battle it out for the grand prize (check out the website here if you are interested in entering). There are two posters, one to get entries and the other to advertise the dates for the heats. If you want to see bigger versions check out my work section!
Art In The Age Presents… Jessica Hische from Art In The Age on Vimeo.
Very excited about the Semi-Permanent Design Conference tomorrow in Auckland! So many good speakers again this year including Adrian Shaughnessy, Jessica Hische and Karen Walker to name a few (can’t wait to see Karen Walker!).
Have a look at this interesting video from Jessica Hische, a typographer/illustrator from Brooklyn New York. She is going to be very inspiring!
I love this photo of my family. Maybe because of the era of the photo or the fact that it has some of my most treasured people in it, but I think it is the most amazing family portrait ever taken! I could look at it for hours! The wonderful woman in the dark jacket in the middle was my great grandmother, she was the matriarch of our family and lived an amazing 103 years. She was a great inspiration to us all.
I was very excited to get the opportunity to do this poster for my friends The Datsuns New Zealand tour in September. It was soo fun to make, I got to work with my two favourite things – music and robots! Limited edition prints of the posters will be available at the shows (while stocks last!!)
Tickets available NOW from undertheradar.co.nz, Real Groovy, Everyman Records, Marbeck’s and Fast & Loose.
I found this collection of typewriter ribbon tins on flickr a while ago, and just found them on my hard drive! I love the great colour combinations and simple designs and often find myself looking at them for inspiration. Enjoy!
Here you go, Black Thursday #4!! I can’t wait to screenprint this one, it will be my first two colour job! Let me know if you want to pre order a T-shirt. :)
Check out this amazing hall table made by The Boiler Room, a company from New Zealand who create one off industrial styled pieces of furniture from items they find at factory or plant closures and the likes. The Boiler Room hold exhibitions once or twice a year to sell amazing items like this, so if you ever get the chance to go to one get in quick! I wasn’t quick enough to snap up this amazing table unfortunately. :(
Just finished the next edition of the Black Thursday poster! We will be making posters and a few T-shirts to sell at the show so let me know if you want to pre-order one! I think the T-shirts will be a white print on a black shirt, but its not decided yet!
